What is web accessibility?

Web accessibility is the process by which websites and online applications are designed and developed to be usable by as many users as possible, regardless of their physical, sensory or cognitive abilities. It involves removing digital barriers and adapting content for people with disabilities, as well as for users browsing under different conditions: slow connections, old devices or small screens. Examples include the use of alternative text for images, appropriate visual contrast, the possibility of navigation only with the keyboard and compatibility with screen readers. Web accessibility means inclusion, equity and a better digital experience for everyone.
